Mrs Betty Moira Lamb 

(1928 to 2010)

Betty - grandma of the world.  Always more concerned about others than herself, she seemed to know how people were really thinking, understand what mattered and had ideas to help. With the highest standards of baking, hospitality and personal caring, everyone loved to visit.  She cheered them up! 

She took a very genuine personal interest in every child she met and was deeply loved and trusted by many of her family's and the village's children.  Closest of all to her loving grandchildren - Juliet, Anneka and Susanne - she remembered every detail that made them who they are. 

She fought the cancer valiantly, and made it to her and Tom's 60th Anniversary in March, which we all enjoyed.  At least her difficult decline gave most of us a chance to surprise her with some of the stories of how she made a big difference in our lives - until then, she hadn't realised how very special she was to so many.

Thank you Mum, Grandma, Auntie, Betty, Mrs Lamb.  You set the highest possible standards of caring and compassion for others.  We will love you always.
